ITINUTURING ng Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) na epektibo ang mga programa ng gobyerno laban sa kahirapan kasunod ng pagbaba ng poverty incidence sa bansa batay sa 2025 data ng Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA).
Ayon sa DSWD, bumaba sa record-low na 9.7 porsyento ang poverty incidence mula sa 15.5 porsyento.
Sinabi ni DSWD spokesperson Assistant Secretary Irene Dumlao na positibong senyales ang pagbaba ng poverty rate at nagpapakita itong gumagana ang whole-of-government strategy laban sa kahirapan, partikular ang mga pangunahing programa gaya ng Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps).
“This is a positive development and an affirmation that the whole-of-government strategy to address poverty alleviation is working, especially through the flagship programs like the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps),” ani Dumlao.
Itinuturing din ng DSWD ang resulta bilang patunay na nakatutulong ang mga programa nito sa mga mahihirap at vulnerable sector.
“We also take this historic achievement as proof that what we are doing in implementing our programs is working to help the poor and vulnerable sectors,” dagdag niya.
Ikinatuwa ni Dumlao ang pagbaba ng poverty incidence at tiniyak na patuloy pang paiigtingin ng kagawaran ang paghahatid ng mga serbisyo at programa sa mga benepisyaryo.
